Suburbs – home for more than a million Finns

Ninna | 9.4.2021

More than a million Finns live in the suburbs of high-rise buildings, which means about 20% of us all. Despite of this, very little has been written about their history and life in the suburbs. Science writers Mikko Laaksonen and Petri Aalto set out to study the history of the suburbs of the Turku region in their new book. What do we actually talk about about when we talk about suburbs?

Unfortunately this blog post is currently only in Finnish. If you can read our beautiful language or want to use Google Translate, you can read the Finnish blog post here.
