Hinnerjoki is a part of Eura’s countryside where the landscape is rich with vast fields and thick forests. Here you can enjoy the peace of the countryside. In the center, there is a more densely built settlement, with detached houses concentrated around the services of the area. There are still signs that Hinnerjoki used to be its own municipality, but it has been part of Eura since 1970.
The center of Hinnerjoki which is also called the church village (kirkonkylä) is spread along the Hinnerjoki River. There is a shop and several small businesses in the village. Hinnerjoki is an excellent residential area for families with children. There is a primary school with small group sizes and a small daycare. Hinnerjoki also has its own library and, a staple of a church village, a church.
Transport connections are good, especially for car owners. The distances are fair: 20 kilometers to the center of Eura and 35 kilometers to Rauma. Municipal school buses take older children to schools in Eura and Rauma.
Hinnerjoki residents live active life. That might be because there are many opportunities in Hinnerjoki for sports enthusiasts. There is a Kunnon tila sports center (in Finnish), a sports field, and the Hinnerjoki fitness track with as much as 2 km of lighted track. Soon there will also be a frisbee golf course in the area. The active life doesn’t stop when the weather gets colder: in winter there is an ice rink to master your skating and hockey shots!
Hinnerjoki is a tourist destination as well. You can visit several museums of Hinnerjoki (in Finnish) and in the church area, you can explore the ruins of the Hinnerjoki mill. In summer tourists and residents can go swimming in Lake Auvoljärvi and enjoy the Eloranta beach sauna.
If you want to know the Hinnerjoki community better, there are association activities for every taste. Hinnerjoki area has several active associations, such as the Hinnerjoki Homeland Association, the Hinnerjoki Village Association, and Hinnerjoki Youth Action (in Finnish).
