Liedon keskusta

Lieto

The residents of the center of Lieto live surrounded by a scenic river and enjoy versatile services close at hand. The center also offers various outdoor and sports activities, from mountain biking to indoor climbing.

Lieto has excellent connections

The center of Lieto, otherwise known as Kirkonseutu, is crossed by Highway 10, making it easy to get to the center of Turku in less than 20 minutes, to Salo in just over half an hour, and to Forssa in an hour. Lieto also has good cycling paths that easily take you to the center of Turku. But if the weather gets bad, you can hop on the Turku region’s public transport service, ‘Föli.’

The most famous residential areas in the center are, among others, Kisakallio, Metsäniemi, Nuolemo, and Vierunpuisto, where the active Vierunpuisto residents' association operates. Saukonoja is located further away from the residential center and has a great sense of community among residents, reflected by the active Saukonoja village association. New housing is planned especially for Saukonojantie, where new apartments and townhouses are under construction for up to 500 new residents.

The best place for outdoor and sports activities

Residents enjoy the center's versatile services, such as two integrated schools and a high school. The area has different shops, interesting businesses, and many services necessary for everyday life.

And do not worry, you are not in danger of getting bored: the center of Lieto has versatile recreational opportunities. In Lietohalli, for example, you can enjoy many sports, like climbing, gym, and many ball games. Around the hall is a permanent free-to-use XCO mountain bike track, rare by Finnish standards.

In addition to diverse sports opportunities, the center of Lieto is close to many great nature destinations. There are many trails and interesting natural sites in Lieto, such as caves and potholes, also known as “giant’s kettles.” The Nautelankoski nature reserve in the nearby Asemanseutu area offers the perfect opportunity for hiking, and the trails of Littoistenjärvi lake are also popular with the locals. Lieto also has a maritime recreational area in Kemiönsaari called Merilieto!
