Masku

The Pakainen area covers the eastern part of Masku. It got its name from a village of about 200 inhabitants which is located in the northeast of Masku. The area is mostly sparsely populated, where open fields, forest strips and farmhouses embellish the landscape. Here it is easy to forget that you are only half an hour away from the hustle and bustle of Turku.

In the middle of nowhere, but still close enough

The eastern part of Masku inspires those who dream of rural living. However, the journey to the center of Turku is less than half an hour by car, and Masku's own services are a 10-minute drive away. Thus the car is a useful means of transportation for the residents of the area.

The nearest services such as a grocery store, pharmacy, a daycare center and a health center can be found in the center of Masku. Additionally, there are two schools in the center of Masku: Kurittula elementary school and Hemming middle school.

Space and community in the same package

Pakainen village has a particularly nice sense of community. The Pakainen village association operates in the area by organizing various small-scale events such as flea markets and fitness circles. The area's attractions include the Kaituri farm, where it is possible to practice, for example, sheep yoga that puts a smile on your face.

In the eastern part of Masku, there are several enclaves, i.e. areas belonging to Masku which are surrounded by Nousiainen and Rusko. These areas extend all the way to the Kurjenrahka National Park, where there are several wonderful outdoor routes for both short and longer trips.
