The first part of the Colors and lights photo competition has received many stunning photos that embrace the colors of this autumn. 12 amazing photos made it to the finals and now the winners are here!
Our main goal in Know Your Hoods - search engine for neighborhoods is to reveal the unique neighborhoods and encourage people to get to know their own surroundings better. We received amazing photos around Turku region that embrace the colors of fall in their own unique way.
More than 100 amazing photos attended the photo competition. Our jury chose 12 finalists of which readers could vote for their favorite. Altogether these pictures received 191 votes and every single one of the pictures had its own fans. :)
We also raffled a prize among voters. Voter named ‘Ani’ got lucky this time and will be rewarded with a gift card to Kosken Leipomo.

Jury's choice: Dog's life in Rauhalinna in Kaarina
Jury's favorite is the Jasmina Mero’s dog laying on a bench in Rauhalinna. Jasmina will be rewarded with 20 € gift card to the lovely Krookilan juhlakartano in Raisio. Congratulations Jasmina! Here are the jury's arguments:
“The atmosphere in this picture lays very still as the dog’s intense gaze captures the viewer’s eye. The colors of the autumn and the dog form a perfect balance and the photo is taken with great talent. It also gives you good vibes!”
Voters' choice: Mushroom in psychedelic colors in Runosmäki
The photo taken by Unna Miettunen from the beloved neighborhood of Runosmäki received outstanding 34% of the votes. She is rewarded with a 50 € gift card to 50/50 Bistro in Kaarina. Congratulations Unna!

Jyri Aerikkala’s stunning photo of fog over the fields of Vanhalinna deserves an honorary mention in this competition. The photo caught voters and jury’s hearts and came in second in both votes.

- Readers' choice: The photo with the most votes is the winner. The photographer will be rewarded with a 50 € gift card to 50/50 Bistro in Kaarina.
- Jury's choice: Our jury will decide the second winner, who will be receive a 20 € gift card to Krookilan juhlakartano in Raisio.

The idea of the Hunt is simple: search for checkpoints, answer questions and participate in the prize raffle.
