Kaarina

Piispanristi is located to the west of Kaarina near Turku border and there area excellent transport connections. The southern part of Piispanristi is a quiet area with detached houses whereas to the west there are apartment blocks. Small businesses and shops are located in the northern part of the area.

Piispanristi is a diverse neighborhood with excellent transport connections from both Kaarina city center/a> and Turku city center, including public transport. Piispanristi is located at a traffic junction and is surrounded by a variety of services. From the western edge of the area you can drive to the center of Turku in as little as 10 minutes.

The shops in the northern part of Piispanristi and the Kurkisuo industrial area are located on the border of Turku, close to the rapidly growing area of Skanssi. In the southern part of Piispanristi there are two cozy low-rise residential areas, Poikluoma and Auvainen, located about 3 kilometers from the center of Kaarina. To the west, bordering Turku, there are Kairiskulma and Rauvola blocks of flats, which are park-like peaceful areas with good transport connections. One can also find an interesting art piece in Piispanristi. It is called the Big Blue – a 25-meter long blue whale on the wall of an old brewery.

In the center of Piispanristi is the Piispanlähde School, which will be renovated between 2020 and 2022. In addition to many shops in the neighborhood, there is also Kaarina’s Ministadium for sports and Huvilupa for indoor activities for people of all ages. The outdoor terrain around Piispanristi is excellent. The neighborhood has an active homeowner association, which has been taking care of the development and comfort of the area since 1958.
