Somersoja

Somersoja neighborhood in the northern part of Raisio is sandwiched between Masku in the north and Naantali in the west. Somersoja is located roughly five kilometers away from the center of Raisio; yet, one can easily manage their daily ventures without a vehicle as Turku region's Föli buses carry you from the Petäsmäki residential area to the city center's services in just a few minutes. And that is where the residents typically go for amenities, as Somersoja does not provide many services. Apart from, of course, the Raisio Health Care Center and the nursing home Kerttulakoti that are located right next to Somersoja.

Somersoja is an unusual mix of a wide variety of building stock. There are apartment buildings in the Petäsmäki area, but also many detached houses with lush yards and long history in the other parts of the neighborhood. Unbuilt and nearly untouched field landscapes are also a central part of Somersoja's scenery.

In addition to the peaceful field landscapes, Somersoja provides excellent outdoor opportunities. For example, in the nature trail Pähkinäpolku, you can enjoy the tranquility of dry forests and the Somersoja creek's groves, which are one of the most precious natural sites in Raisio.
