The center of Sauvo is located between Turku and Salo, only a half-hour drive from the hustle and bustle of the cities. Buses operate several times a day and can also take you to both Turku and Salo in under an hour. In addition, there are excellent transport connections to the archipelago in the direction of Kemiö.

The heart of Sauvo is it’s village center with a stone church built in the 15th century and a spacious green parkland surrounding it. The nearby neighborhood Kallemäki is perched on top of a hill and has beautiful views over Sauvonjoki river valley. With the views and lush forests, it is easy to understand why the neighborhood is gaining in popularity!

Other neighborhoods in the center of Sauvo include Kannas, Foudila, and the unique Lautkankare, which are all located only a few kilometers from the village center. A pedestrian and bicycle route will soon be built from Latkankare to the center of Sauvo.

The center of Sauvo offers a wide range of services, such as grocery stores, a health center, a pharmacy, a library, and restaurants. Families with children are particularly pleased with the new Hakkiskoto daycare, which was completed in 2021, and the Sauvo school center, renovated in 2020, offering education from pre-school to junior high school.

The supply of services is enriched further by local businesses, many of which reside in the Kulmala-Timperi area along Sauvon-Kemiöntie road.

Nature lovers, athletes, and culture enthusiasts of all ages will enjoy the leisure time opportunities Sauvo has to offer. The village center has active associations, such as the Sauvo Living Culture Society, Sauvo Athletes, Sauvon Syke, the volunteer fire brigade and Peimari United (in Finnish), that provide numerous hobbies and activities.
