Great connections and variety of services

Jyrkkälä is located in Pahaniemi district, about 5 kilometers from the center of Turku. It is located along the Naantali highway and the area has great public transport connections. In addition, the port of Turku, the Pansion shipyard and the Artukainen small industrial, which offers many job opportunities, are nearby.

The Aunela school and the Aunela multi-purpose center with a library and a youth center are located next to the Jyrkkälä apartment buildings. There are no less than 10 playgrounds in the yard, and in the immediate vicinity of the area you can find grocery store, restaurant, sports field, skatepark, dog park and RC racing track.

Läheisessä Härkämäessä on lisäksi jalkapallo- ja tenniskenttä, koirapuisto ja kuntorata. Turun messukeskus ja TPS:n kotipaikkanakin toimiva monitoimihalli Gatorade Center kohoavat noin kilometrin päässä.

Jyrkkälä has strong community spirit

The 17 apartment buildings are managed by the non-profit rental housing company KOy Jyrkkälänpolu. Residents are served by the company's own, familiar staff, from property management to customer service. The apartments are reasonably priced compared to the general price level in Turku.

The company cooperates closely with an active residents' committee, and resident democracy is an important part of the development of the area. Residents' satisfaction has been at a top level for years, for example the willingness to recommend (NPS) is over 70!

The residents of Jyrkkälä often describe the place with the word village, and the area's strength is a genuine sense of community. The active people of Jyrkkälä organize a variety of activities, from the bros club to game nights and the activities of the pensioners' association to youth skating events. Local parish also organizes events. Many activities are located in the area's own Asukastupa building or in club rooms.
