Martti is a communal and cozy neighborhood near the city center. There are old verdant trees, local restaurants and it takes only a few minutes to go and have a run by the River Aura or in the Sports Park.

Martti is a neighborhood loved by its residents. The area consists of 1920's and 1930's wooden houses and 1940's and 1950's apartment buildings by the River Aura, only two kilometers from the city center. Martti has excellent public transport. Martti Bridge is the last bridge over the river Aura before the sea, although the legendary ferry Föri takes pedestrians and cyclists to the other side of the river.

The area of Martti has got its name after its impressive church, named after Martin Luther. Around the Martin’s Church there is a verdant park area, cozy little restaurants and small shops. Living costs in the area are rather high but in exchange, you get to live in a lively neighborhood close to the city center.

Described by its residents, Martti is a very communal neighborhood. There are many different communities and associations in the area. One of the most well-known is an influential and active neighborhood association, Martinrantaseura, from whose magazines you can read the history of Martti and get to know its social activities.
