Varissuo is a well-known neighborhood in Turku. The area has excellent outdoor opportunities and there are lots of friends for children. Nearly all necessary services are close by.

Varissuo is located in the Eastern part of Turku, about 9 kilometers from the center of Turku, at the border of the city of Kaarina. The area has nearly 9,000 residents and is the most culturally diverse neighborhood in Turku. Transport connections are good by car as well as with public transport.

Varissuo consists mostly of apartments buildings built in the 1970's and 80's. Despite being densely built, it is close to nature and provides great opportunities for outdoor activities. Of the suburbs in Turku, Varissuo has the most diverse offering of public and private services, which the residents value. The youth center and many clubs bring people together.

In Varissuo, many groups have actively campaigned for the development of the area, and Varissuo has improved significantly in terms of safety and has become more pleasant. Varissuo-Seura ry the residents’ association in the area, works as a link between the residents and the city, working to improve the area and bring people together.
