Kaarina

Kaarina city center is developing rapidly. It offers a variety of services and housing options with excellent transport connections. The center extends from Hovirinta service center to Kuusisto strait, where residents enjoy the seaside, marinas and beaches.

You can find almost anything needed in Kaarina city center, and if you don’t, it is only 10 kilometers away from Turku Market Square with excellent transport connections. Right through the center passes Uudenmaantie, one of the regional highways, and there is only a couple minute drive to the Helsinki highway. There are also good connections from Kaarina city center to Turku and Helsinki. In around 20 minutes by bus one can reach Turku Market Square, and the public transport of Turku region Föli also takes care of Kaarina’s internal lines K1-K6.

In recent years the city center has experienced a revolutionary transformation, and it is still a rapidly developing modern area. The new Kaarina-talo, opened in 2018, offers citizens library services, art exhibitions, concerts and spaces for a variety of hobbies. In addition to cultural activities the center area, there is a wide range of sporting activities including sports fields, an indoor swimming pool and a fitness track. Naturally, most of the city's major public services are concentrated in the area.

New blocks of flats are being built alongside older residential buildings in the center of Kaarina. In addition to the Hovirinta apartment block, the area also houses the Koristo, Mattelmäki, Hovipelto and Veitenmäki detached and row houses, which are peaceful, park-like and sparsely built neighborhoods. The lucky ones can even find a private house with a berth on the seafront. The Kärje area near the beach has both modern architecture and detached houses.

The Kaarina-seura association, takes care of Kaarina’s development and residents’ comfort, and cultivates community spirit and culture. The association actively works with other residents’ associations in the city.
