Kaarina

The Kuusisto island is known for its magnificent nature and the ruins of the Kuusisto Episcopal Castle, but there is also a peaceful residential area in the neighborhood. Kuusisto has a great location along the Archipelago ring road and is close to the services offered in the Kaarina city center.

Kuusisto is an island about 10 kilometers long and 2.5 kilometers wide south of the Kaarina city center. The island is connected to the center of Kaarina by a bridge less than 2 km away. Both bus lines from Turku to Parainen and Kaarina’s internal Föli go through the island. In addition to residential areas, Kuusisto has many attractions such as the Ruins of the Bishop's Castle, the Kuusisto Wooden Church and Manor, and villas designed by Erik Bryggmann.

The Kuusisto island has it all: woods, rocky hills, open fields, all surrounded by calming sea views. Kuusisto's two main neighborhoods, Empo and Kylliäinen, are low-rise and atmospheric areas in the immediate vicinity of nature. In addition to residential areas, Kuusisto is home to villas, seaside plots and detached houses. Many of the sites have their own berth for boat.

There are some services in Kuusisto, such as primary school and daycare. Otherwise, the services in the Kaarina city center are only a couple kilometers away from Empo and Kylliäinen. Kuusisto also has lodging services for travelers, a campground, as well as restaurants.
