Ruona-Viluluoto

Naantali

Ruona-Viluluoto is a richly nuanced neighborhood where residents can choose to live right next to the sea in a detached house of their dreams, or in an effortless apartment building close to the many services of Naantali city center. The restful ambiance and recreational areas by the sea make the area a welcoming place to live.

Ruona-Viluluoto is located right next to the center of Naantali, making daily commute and chores alike easy to do by bike or on foot. The Aurinkotie road leading to Turku passes through the neighborhood, so reaching Turku takes only 20 minutes. For those fancying to use public transport, Turku region's Föli buses run to Turku market square regularly and to other nearby areas too.

Ruona, the northern part of the neighborhood, is for the most part a densely built residential area close to the sea, consisting of apartment buildings built in the 1960–1970s. But as one of its many surprises, it captures the Pirttiluoto headland reaching to the sea and offering a home to many masterpieces of modern architecture. Viluluoto, then, is located on the southern side of Aurinkotie road, and is an area for mainly detached and terraced houses.

When it comes to the service offering, the neighborhood attracts visitors around Naantali to its modern grocery stores, casual restaurants, and some specialty stores serving specific needs. K-Supermarket Ukkopekka in Viluluoto is the biggest grocery store in Naantali and sets the bar for a retail landscape in the region. Due to its high-quality services, the area is ideal for families with children. For the youngest ones in the family, there is a kindergarten in Ruona and schools under two kilometer radius either in the city center or in Karvetti.

A neighborhood made for those who enjoy the outdoors, Ruona has a lovely route by the seaside, offering plenty of opportunities for recreational activities. And for those with a flair for marine life and boats of all kinds, Ruona provides rental places for boats, so residents don’t have to live by the sea in order to safely store their vehicles. The area is all about the sea and residents can have a leisurely stroll to the beach and Naantali Spa within a few minutes and dive into the refreshing waters. The Luolalanjärvi nature trail can also be reached from Viluluoto in the blink of an eye and the new fitness stairs will surely provide a good cardio exercise that may well become your new favorite workout.
