Nuorikkala is a neighborhood sandwiched between the Raisio Bay in the south and Uusikaupunki and Naantali railway lines in the north. The distance to the center of Raisio is three kilometers, and the center of Turku is about 20 minute drive away. To the delight of the users of public transport, Turku region's Föli buses stop in Nuorikkala, so the services and other attractions can be reached without a vehicle of one's own.
The building stock of the neighborhood consists mainly of detached and semi-detached houses. The Tahvio village adds a characteristic rural feel with golden fields and accompanying agricultural buildings. As little-known gems, the village has a couple of manor-style buildings, which bring a sense of history to the area. For families with children, it is good to know that Tahvio primary school teaches students in grades 3-6.
The most prominent attractions in Nuorikkala are, undoubtedly, the well-kept greenery and the proximity of the Raisio Bay. The Bay hosts several nature trails where you can relax and recharge by walking in the lush forests and perhaps pause for birdwatching. Hahdenniemi marina is also nearby, welcoming those with a flair for marine life. Adding to the natural offering are the neighborhood's well-manicured grassy parks, blooming beautifully in the spring and changing colors in the fall.
Residents head for services, shopping and dining mainly to Raisio city center or to the largest shopping center in Southwest Finland, Mylly, which is about five kilometers away.
