Tikanmaa

Tikanmaa is fringed by Naantali in the west, by the Uusikaupunki railway line in the east, and the Naantali railway line in the south. The distance from Tikanmaa to the center of Raisio is about five kilometers, and to the center of Naantali just a little bit more. The center of Turku can be reached by a vehicle in about 20 minutes. Owning a car or a motorbike may be useful for getting around, but even those without are not in trouble in Tikanmaa as Turku region's public transport Föli can take you to the center of Raisio in less than ten minutes.

The neighborhood began to emerge in the 1940s when the first detached houses were built in the region. Since then, several apartment buildings and terraced houses continue to rise in the neighborhood. Tikanmaa succeeds in meeting the residents' basic needs, as there are convenience stores, restaurants, and a few other specialty shops in the area. Adding to the service offering, Tikanmaa also hosts Paikkari Health Care Center and Tikanmaa primary school for the first two grades.

After the residents move in, it does not take long for them to find the Pähkinämäki outdoor area, where you can enjoy the soothing effects of the surrounding nature. Besides the varied forest areas along the Pähkinäpolku trail, Tikanmaa provides a backdrop for several sport activities. Here, you can find a basketball court, a jogging track, and a sand field that is suitable for playing football in summer and honing your ice skating skills during the colder months. These facilities undoubtedly add to any sports enthusiasts' well-being.
