Kähäri is a peaceful neighborhood with beautiful wooden houses and lush gardens. But what is even better - it is conveniently close to the center of Turku.

Even though Kähäri is relatively near the city center, it is not densely populated. It is a peaceful neighborhood, which can be easily reached on foot as well as through public transport. Both the main railway and long-distance bus stations are within walking distance in the neighboring area of Pohjola.

This idyllic neighborhood is filled with wooden houses built in the 1800s and 1900s and detached homes from later decades with lush gardens. One of these historic buildings is a house built for Karelian refugees in 1940, where now Turku's Karelian community gathers for different events and workshops.

People of different ages, ranging from retirees to families with small children, live side-by-side. The price level has been rising due to the development of the nearby area, yet you still can find some surprisingly affordable houses considering their prime location.

Various daily services are close by, and the cultural center Logomo is located in neighboring Pohjola as well. There is an active neighborhood association Länsi-Turun asukasyhdistys ry established by the residents. It aims to create cooperation among residents, promote their interests, and contribute to the development of services and the living environment.
