Pansio-Perno neighborhood is located in the Western part of Turku, about eight kilometers from the center of Turku and on the border of the city of Raisio. The area has around 6,000 residents. Paakarla is a part of Pansio-Perno and consists of rental apartment buildings. The Pansio-Perno neighborhood includes the major employer Meyer Turku Shipyard and has good public transport connections.

The living is affordable and the area consists of detached houses, townhouses and apartment buildings of different ages. The residential area of Pansio’s Shipbuilding Industry, which primarily consists of wooden houses and townhouses built in the 1940's, has been designated a nationally significant cultural area. The residential areas of Pansio-Perno have been developed significantly in recent years, and particular attention has been paid to the development of pleasant living environment.

Basic services as well as multiple possibilities for outdoor activities and sport facilities can be found in both Pansio and Perno. Pansio Kisapuisto's artificial grassland is in active use of many sports clubs and there is a frisbee golf course in Majakkamäki.
