Telakkaranta is an old shipyard area transforming to become a stylish neighborhood located in one of the most scenic locations in Turku at the mouth of the river Aura.

Telakkaranta is located at the southern banks of the river Aura, approximately 3 km from the city center. Due to the scenery, location and new high-rise buildings, the area has the most expensive apartments in Turku. Historical buildings have been protected and, for example, the old industrial building of Manilla is serving as a cultural center.

In addition to the new luxurious homes by the river Aura, Vilkkilänmäki neighborhood is a site of modern architecture, with a river view and lush parks. Telakkaranta area has excellent public transport, and the legendary river ferry Föri is taking passengers across the river. The area is also ideal for boat owners as the marina is just across the river. The neighborhood has a grocery store and other services can be quickly reached in the city center.

The communal activities are organized by an influential and active neighborhood association, Martinrantaseura. They have published various magazines covering the history of the area and its social activities.
