Student Village (Ylioppilaskylä) is mostly inhabited by students. The majority of students have lived or at least visited friends in the neighborhood and experienced many memorable times.

Officially, the Student Village belongs to the Nummi district, yet it is a unique neighborhood mainly for university students. Student Village is located next to the University of Turku campus, near to other universities and about 3 kilometers from the center of Turku. The area has good public transport connections and majority of students use bikes to move around.

Student Village mainly consists of apartment buildings built in the 1970s, but recently the area has seen new and experimental buildings such as Ikituuri and Aitiopaikka. Student village apartments are primarily managed by Student Village Foundation of Turku (TYS).

As the Student Village lies on the banks of the River Aura, nature is close by, and the lovely riverside invites people to go for a run. There are good public and private services in Student Village or nearby Nummi, such as a library, two schools, a sheltered home, grocery stores, and The Student Health Care Foundation (FSHS). In addition, Caribia Spa is located close by next to a peculiar attraction called Posankka - a statue of a mixed duck and pig.
