Meri-Piikkiö tarjoaa asukkailleen harvaan asutun maaseudun rauhaa niemen nokassa ja saariston syleilyssä. Alueella on kaikkia lähialueiden asukkaita ja kauempaakin tulevia vierailijoita ilahduttavia virkistysalueita ja uimarantoja.

Meri-Piikkiö koostuu Harvaluodon, Heernummen ja Piikkiönlahden merellisistä ja maaseutumaisista kaupunginosista, jotka sijaitsevat entisen Piikkiön kunnan ja nykyisen Kaarinan itäosassa. Vaikka matkaa Kaarinan keskustaan kertyy esimerkiksi Heernummen itäosista 15 kilometriä, on ajomatka kuitenkin vain reilu parikymmentä minuuttia hyvien kulkuyhteyksien ansiosta. Alueella toimii aluekehitystä ja kotiseutuhenkeä ajava Piikkiö-Seura.

Heernummi ja Piikkiönlahti ovat peltojen ja korkeiden metsäisten mäkien täyttämää saaristomaista maaseutua lähellä Piikkiön keskustaa. Alue on historiallisesti merkittävä, sillä sieltä löytyy useita muinaishautoja ja linnavuoria, kuten Pohtionvuoren linnavuori ja Kipervuoren linnavuori. Uskomaton luonto ja laajat metsäalueet tarjoavat rauhaa rakastaville asukkaille monipuolisia harrastusmahdollisuuksia ja korkeiden mäkien päältä on upeat näköalat saaristoon ja maaseudun tunnelmaan.

Harvaluoto on 9,2 neliökilometrin kokoinen saari, jonne pääsee ajamaan siltaa pitkin ja jossa vakituisia asukkaita on noin 200. Harvaluodossa sijaitsee myös viiden hehtaarin kokoinen Kaarinan kaupungin virkistysalue, josta löytyy erinomaiset fasiliteetit retkeilijöille. Lisäksi lähellä on leirintäalue ja kesäkahviloita. Piikkiön keskustasta Harvaluotoon liikennöi Kaarinan sisäinen Föli-yhteys.
