Auranlaakso is a calm residential neighborhood in close proximity to the Aura river and Littoinen lake. The residents of Auranlaakso enjoy the surrounding nature, historical landscapes, good infrastructure and versatile services.

Auranlaakso neighborhood spreads over the Aura river, with its population concentrated along the south bank. The area is located within 15 minutes drive to the north from the Kaarina city center and to the east from the Turku city center. Hämeen valtatie (highway) rushes through the area, allowing fast connections to Tampere, Helsinki and Häme (Tavastia). The public transport of Turku region Föli drives regularly in the direction of the Turku center and Kaarina’s internal K1 line brings people to the center of Kaarina.

Auranlaakso contains a culturally and historically important Ristimäki hill in Ravattula, which is the oldest known church site in Finland. Also ancient graves and prehistoric natural shore formations on the Linnavuori outdoor route, as well as an idyllic Liedon Vanhalinna castle add the historical feel to the neighborhood.

Auranlaakso consists mostly of detached and row houses. Silvola and Kausela are two areas with scarcely built detached houses near Ravattula shopping center and big roads, while Kultanummi is a calm area with row houses right on the shore of the Littoinen lake next to the neighborhood of Littoinen. Auranlaakso has a wide array of services, such as a school, day care, a dog park, and the centralized Ravattula shopping area in the middle, where one can find a big grocery store Citymarket among others.

The residents of Auranlaakso can enjoy different activities right in the neighborhood. There are a myriad of natural paths, the most popular circling around the Littoinen lake. On the shore of the lake there is a beach, and the popular Villa Järvelä offers ice swimming opportunities in winter. There is also a bird-watching tower and the bird wetland in the area. Other opportunities for hobbies can be found on the sports field and in the Littoinen Dance Pavilion.
