Kuninkoja

Raisio

Kuninkoja is a rapidly developing neighborhood, where its residents enjoy lush natural surroundings and exceptional shopping opportunities offered by many large department stores set in the area. Kuninkoja is located within a short distance from the center of Raisio and Turku.

Kuninkoja is the easternmost district of Raisio, located on the border between Turku and Rusko. Thanks to the city’s compact size, it’s only four kilometers to the center of Raisio even from its easternmost corner. Public transport operates efficiently and connects Kuninkoja to nearby districts, as the Turku region's Föli buses regularly pass through the area and take passengers to the Turku city center in only 15 minutes.

For those who enjoy shopping and like to find inspiration and items for home interior and do-it-yourself projects, Kuninkoja is a treat. The area includes well-known department stores such as Ikea, Biltema, Gigantti, Power, K-Rauta, and Jysk. Also, HopLop offers exciting things to do for the youngest ones in the household and stays as a favorite spot among families with children. Mylly, the largest shopping center in Southwest Finland, is located right next to Kuninkoja, in Kuloinen.

In addition to department stores and family entertainment, the Kuninkoja landscape is characterized by idyllic detached houses, green forests and fields aplenty. In recent years, several new detached and terraced houses have risen in the area, which has attracted even more families with children into the area. Younger children mainly go to the Kuloinen primary school, while junior high school students study in the Vaisaari comprehensive school in Raisio city center.

The region is considered as the primary source of the river Kuninkoja, giving the area its name. Natural landmarks of the area are easily accessed and adorned in the Hauninen reservoir, a popular outdoor destination, and the protected Metsäkylä–Kuninkoja natural area, officially residing within the Turku municipality borders. Head out on foot in Kuninkoja and you will be rewarded with plenty of natural scenery and serenity.
