Lauste is a multicultural suburb close to nature and with an excellent outdoor activities. Residents enjoy affordable living and great variety of services.

Lauste is located about 7 kilometers southeast from the center of Turku and it shares its southern border with the city of Kaarina. The Helsinki Highway (Helsingin valtatie) runs in the western part of the neighborhood and the connections to the center are good by car as well as with public transport.

Lauste is a truly multicultural suburb with dozens of different nationalities. Most of the apartment buildings are built in the 1970s and the majority of them have either white or grey concrete facades. There are already several buildings being renovated thoroughly. The residents of Lauste enjoy affordable living because especially selling prices are one of the lowest in Turku. The tightly built center of Lauste is surrounded by lovely greenery and forests. There is a great variety of sports facilities such as tennis courts, football field and jogging tracks in the neighborhood.

Lauste has many basic services such as a primary school, a library, daycare centers, grocery stores, and a few restaurants. In addition, a large shopping mall Skanssi is on the other side of the border in Skanssi neighborhood and the Itäkeskus shopping center in the neighboring Varissuo area offers a variety of daily services as well. Varissuo also has an international school. Lauste is part of several improvement projects of Turku suburbs, so the city is actively enhancing the living environments in the area.
