Mahittula

The rural Mahittula is located in the northeastern part of Raisio, hugging the neighboring town of Rusko. The dominant element in the landscape is the untouched nature and golden fields with fresh air aplenty. Here, it is easy to retreat to your own space and keep social distance as the area beats records in population size and density, being the smallest and most sparsely populated neighborhood in Raisio. The trip to the center of Raisio unfolds fast with a motorised vehicle; yet a car or a motorbike is a necessity in such a dispersed area.

Despite its rural location, services are within easy reach. Mylly, the largest shopping center in Southwest Finland is found in Kuloinen, and other large department stores such as Ikea, Gigantti and Biltema offer plenty of shopping opportunities in Kuninkoja. For urban needs, the city center of Raisio is only a few kilometers away. Adding to the service mix, Hauninen industrial area hosts small factories that have set shops for their manufactured products. Near the Turku ring road, this brings a characteristic industrial feel to the otherwise calm rural atmosphere of the neighborhood.

Mahittula is an excellent choice for outdoor lovers. For example, the Kullaanpolku trail, with more than 10 kilometers to traverse, is well suited as a day trip destination all year round. Along the trail, you will be rewarded with picturesque forest views and cows grazing on the greens while admiring the vast scenery that opens up from the Kullaanvuori hill on the border of Raisio and Rusko. The popular outdoor destination Hauninen's reservoir is also located in the eastern part of Mahittula.
