Maritime Sauvo is a large, sparsely populated area full of scattered residential areas amidst spectacular landscapes. Sauvo’s 140-kilometer coastline and countryside offer an opportunity for a serene life away from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

The majority of Sauvo’ surface area consists of spectacular coastal landscapes dotted with small village communities and important places for leisure. Maritime Sauvo spreads over a radius of more than 10 kilometers from the center of Sauvo, where most of the municipality's services, such as the new daycare center and school, are located.

Those who appreciate proximity to the sea, a peaceful living environment and an idyllic atmosphere will feel right at home in Maritime Sauvo. The area has many holiday homes, so in the summer the beaches are filled with summer residents. Small business is also thriving in the area, which is why Maritime Sauvo is filled with greenhouses, gardens, smallholders, and tourist services, among others.

Leisure time at sea and on land

Maritime Sauvo offers tourists many hiking routes and outdoor destinations to enjoy, like, for example, the Maalu observation tower. Two popular beaches, Marjaniemi and Sarapisto, are also located in the area. The camp center and barbecue area in Marjaniemi is the summer oasis for Sauvo’s residents while the campsite in Sarapisto is a popular tourist destination. It is also possible to hop on Sauvo's kayaking route from both Marjaniemi and Sarapisto!
