Itäharju is a beautiful neighborhood filled with colorful wooden houses and sandy roads. Services are nearby and the area is inhabited mostly by students and families with children.

Itäharju is located next to the university and technology center, about three kilometers from the city center. The development of Kupittaa will also impact western Itäharju in the future, as there is a plan to expand the Turku Science Park to expand into the area.

The residential area of Itäharju is full of idyllic wooden houses. Itäharju also includes Jaani's apartment building area built in the 1970s. Itäharju is quite densely populated, yet small parks between the houses and green backyards create a cozy atmosphere. There is a great variety of public and private sector services in the Itäharju area. And what you can't find in Itäharju, you can find right next to it in the Eastern Center or Kupittaa. The Turku University Hospital (TYKS) also operates in the area. It is easy to move around in the area by bike, by car or by bus. In addition, the connections to Helsinki are great as the Kupittaa railway station is nearby and the connection to Helsinki highway is right behind the corner.
