Turku

Kastu is a cozy and sparsely built neighborhood with houses, parks, and small forested hills relatively close to the city center of Turku.

Kastu is located only a few kilometers from the center of Turku to the north. The area lies next to the Tampere highway and has excellent public transport connections. It is an idyllic residential area consisting mostly of detached and terraced houses built in the 1950s and 60s. Also, there is a row of distinguishable yellow apartment buildings along the street of Raunistulan puistotie.

The residents of Kastu are enjoying a good variety of public and private sector services. There are two schools located just off the border in Vätti and Raunistula neighborhoods. The Prisma and Lidl supermarkets to the northeast, in Kaerla neighborhood. Outdoor activities and sports facilities are relatively close, as Kastu lies between the running tracks of River Aura in Raunistula and the Impivaara sports center area, including an indoor swimming pool, football hall, an indoor ice rink, and an archery trail in Kaerla.

The oldest residents’ association in Finland, Raunistulan asuinkiinteistöyhdistys ry, operates in Kastu. It aims to promote the small house living in the area and the interests of the residents.
