Majakkaranta is an area with apartment building by the seaside. Residents enjoy the amazing scenery and walking paths by the sea throughout the year.

Majakkaranta is officially part of the Pihlajaniemi district located about 4 kilometers southwest from the center of Turku. In addition, few of the apartment building are located in the Korppolaismäki neighborhood. Majakkaranta forms a unique and modern area with recognizable apartment buildings with white facades and turquoise balconies. The landmark of Majakkaranta is an 18-story building Airiston tähti (Star of Airisto).

The neighborhood is easy to reach as public transport https://www.foli.fi connections are excellent and there are great cycling and walking routes along the riverside towards the city center. There is a grocery store in the area and majority of the public services such as schools are in neighboring areas or in the city center. Various outdoor activities and recreational opportunities are within a few kilometers on the Hirvensalo island, which is connected by a bridge from Majakkaranta.

In addition to residental area, there are Heikkilä Barracks located on the other side of the street Hirvensalon puistotie. The barracks area might transform itself into a residential area of 5000 people in the near future. There is an influential and active neighborhood association, Martinrantaseura, operating in Majakkaranta. Martinrantaseura has published various magazines, which provide information about the history of the area and the coming social activities.
